Mufti Husain Ahmad (Head Mufti)

Mufti Husain Ahmad was born in the historical city of Badr in 1975. He obtained the early part of his education in the blessed city of Madinah Munawwarah and Makkah where he started memorizing the Quran, which he completed in 1986 in Cornwall, Canada.  Later, he traveled to England to continue his education at the Darul-Uloom Bury for the Aalimiyyah coursse.

For the final year of the Aalim course he went to Darul-Uloom Karachi in 1994, under the likes of Shaykh, Mufti Sahbaan Mahmood rahmatullahi alayh, Mufti Taqi Usmani and Mufti Rafi Usmani. Upon the instructions of his Shaikh, Mufti Mahmood Hasan Gangohi rahmatullahi alayh (the late grand Mufti of India), he went to Dabhel, India to pursue the Mufti course. He completed the Mufti course under the supervision of Mufti Ahmad Khanpuri.

In 1996 immediately after the demise of Mufti Mahmood Hasan Gangohi rahmatullahi alayh, Mufti Ahmad Khanpuri granted him Ijazah for Bai’yah.

Since 1997, he has been serving as the Mufti and teacher of Arabic, Fiqh, Hadith, and Tafseer at Darul-Uloom Al-Madania and Darul-Uloom Canada.

Mufti Atif Iqbal

Mufti Mohammed Atif Iqbal was raised in Buffalo, New York, where he did his initial schooling. In 1996, at the age of 11, he enrolled in the prestigious Islamic institution of higher learning, Darul Uloom Al-Madania in Buffalo, initially for the memorization of the Holy Quran. After completing his memorization in 1999 he went on to complete high school and in 2001 returned to Darul Uloom Al-Madania for a comprehensive and systematic study of Islam.

He studied for six years gaining proficiency in the core sciences of the traditional Islamic seminary curriculum. He learnt the Arabic language, Quranic Exegesis (Tafsir), Prophetic Traditions (Hadith), Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh), Theology (Aqeedah) and other necessary disciplines. In 2007, Mufti graduated as an Alim gaining traditional licences (Ijazaat) to teach and transmit the knowledge that he gained.

His teachers include Shaykh al-Hadith Abdul Moiz, Shaykh Mansur Memon Madani, Shaykh Ibrahim Memon Madani and Mufti Husain Ahmed Madani. After graduation he did a specialization in Islamic Jurisprudence and Legal Verdicts (Iftaa) under Mufti Husain Ahmed Madani in the same institution.

In 2009 after completing Iftaa he was given the honour of teaching in Darul Uloom Al-Madania, where he still holds the position of a teacher of the sacred sciences. Currently he teaches Juristic Theory (Usul  al-Fiqh), Tafsir and Hadith. He is actively involved in the maintenance of the institution as well as various extracurricular activities involving the youth.

Mufti Atif has traveled to the two holy cities of Makkah and Madinah where he met many scholars and also spent a considerable amount of time in India benefiting from scholars there.


Mufti Abdul Mannan Mulla

Mufti Abdulmannan Mulla was born in Bridgetown Barbados to a pious scholarly family. He completed his primary school in Toronto and enrolled in the famous Islamic seminary Darul Uloom Al-Madania in Buffalo. He memorized the Holy Quran and completed the formal study of the core disciplines of a traditional Islamic curriculum, such as Arabic, Tafsir (Quranic Exegesis), Hadith (Prophetic Traditions), Fiqh (Jurisprudence) and other related subjects and graduated with distinction.

His teachers include Shaykhul Hadith Abdul Moiz, Shaykh Mansoor Memon Madani, Shaykh Ibrahim Memon Madani, Mufti Husain Ahmed and Shaykh Asim Ahmad. Upon graduation, he completed a post-graduate specialization program in Islamic Law and Legal Verdicts (Iftaa) which trains scholars to issue formal Islamic legal opinions (Fatwa).

Currently, he teaches in Darul Uloom Canada and its online distance learning program, eAlim. Most notably he teaches Sunan Ibn Majah, which is among the six most authentic books of Hadith, as well as Hidaya, a classical text in Islamic Jurisprudence.

He has lectured in various Masjids, given Friday khutahs and seminars and takes a lively interest in various activities that engage the youth.
