Getting an injection while fasting

Does getting an injection break the fast?

الجواب حامدا ومصليا ومسلما

Generally, receiving injections do not nullify one’s fast. However, in cases where the needle is injected directly into the brain or the gastrointestinal tract (which is extremely rare or almost non-existent), the fast would be nullified. It should also be noted, however, that receiving injections for the purpose of sustenance would  be makrooh if done without a valid reason since it would defeat the purpose of the fast.
