We research every question against the primary literature of the Ḥanafī school, with respect for the other accepted madhāhib. No shortcut, no opinion-without-source.

Traditional. Clarity. Trust.
A scholarly home dedicated to making the rich tradition of Islamic jurisprudence accessible — sourced, sound, and written for the realities of life in North America today.
A house of scholarship, built for everyday Muslims.
The organization grew out of a simple need. Muslims living in the West were finding that the questions they faced — about finance, family, prayer in modern circumstances, the ethics of daily work — often required answers that drew on classical scholarship while speaking to a contemporary context. There were brilliant scholars working on these problems. There just wasn't a single, accessible home for the answers.
Today, every fatwa we publish is researched against primary sources, reviewed by our scholarly panel, and written in plain English. Our methodology is rooted in the classical Ḥanafī tradition, with respect for the other accepted schools and a careful eye for the realities of the local community. We are not in the business of giving easy answers. We are in the business of giving honest ones.
Three commitments we hold ourselves to.
Every ruling, every article, and every conversation we have with the community
runs through this short list.
A fatwa is only useful if the person asking can understand it. We write in plain English, explain the reasoning, and trust the reader to follow the argument.
We answer the questions that come from Canada and from Muslims living in the West, because the realities of contemporary life deserve real engagement, not generic rulings.
